Held on July 8th at 7:00 pm Johnson Theatre slowly filled up as scholars came to watch and participate in this GSParody of Family Feud!
This Murray GSP ‘24 event filled the dreary and damp night with joy and excitement as all those in attendance watched with glee as our friends answered GSP themed questions rapidly to attempt to win. No one went through the rounds unscathed, part of the fun was hearing their silly answers, which inevitably caused the big red X of shame.
This game consisted of five rounds, ten teams, and twenty questions. Little did we know, the answers were collected directly from the scholars via a Google Form completed during a hall meeting several days prior. Teams had been created in advance with “families” of five. Each family was randomly chosen to compete during this event. The process was accomplished through a random draw from a bingo cage. Giggles filled the theater as the team names were announced because who wouldn’t laugh at the creative names such as “The Grass Touchers” or “GSPunks?” When the families were selected they stood on stage and competed to answer the questions posed by the host RA Josh and run by RA Katlyn.
Below is the list of all the rounds, and which family competed.
Round one: The Grass Touchers vs. the Sea Inch
Round two: GSPunks vs. The Jams
Round three: Lemme Get That Josh vs. Mels’ Marauders
Round four: The Heathers vs. The Gillespies
Round five: Lunar Eclipse vs. Granules
With no clear winner, nor a running tally, those ten families competed for the prize of… Absolutely nothing! But that’s not quite true as at the end of the night the scholars were left with a satisfying experience that was filled with many laughs and the overwhelming feeling of community.
